Fear - Is it helping you or hurting you?
Published on February 19th, 2009 @ 12:46:37 am , using 311 words, 1270 views
It keeps us safe and protected, it's that voice that reminds us that FIRE does burn.
It is one of the most primal safeguards built into our psyche.
Although primal fear may have kept us alive in a more prehistoric setting. A lot of people have translated into a myriad of phobias. Fear of spiders, Fear of heights, Fear of crowds, even fear of the phone. Scores of people, who wish to make a living from home, are afraid or more simply fear the phone.
Would-be marketers must overcome this self-imposed fear. F-E-A-R, or "Failure Expected And Received" results when you allow yourself to be overwhelmed with the thoughts that the person on the other end of line will somehow "burn" you. That this person will reject you, belittle you, put you down in some way. It's almost a selfish act on your part, you are only thinking of yourself.
In the Can-Spam compliant world that we live in, you will typically be working with a "list" of people that willingly, knowingly, double-optingly asked for someone like yourself to please call them regarding your business or service. So that is all you have to do. It is really as simple as that.
If that is too simple to start with, take a couple of small steps. Make a single call, confirm someone's information, make a friend, and above all else "Do not be a Salesman!". That is probably the source of your FEAR. That you have to PITCH something, so don't, make a friend instead.
People are SOLD something as soon they open a newspaper, turn on the radio, turn on their TV or open their mail. So be that friendly voice. Do that something they do not expect, be their friend.
Then you can turn that F-E-A-R into "Face Everything And Recover".

Are You Being The Best You
Published on February 15th, 2009 @ 02:06:24 pm , using 273 words, 571 views
A tough question to ask someone. One that stops oneself and begs for immediate reflection. How do you answer the question?
To easier answer the question, maybe more questions need to be asked. How are your relationships with your family? How are your relationships with your co-workers? Now these are some questions to start the thought process. Ask the people closest to you if you are being the best you.
I have my share of motivational recordings and books. Of the two, I prefer reading as it lets the mind visualize better. And to further the experience and retention, it is suggested that you read aloud. There are several books that have helped me with my relationships.
Once recognized, if there is some improvement that needs to be made, do so, recognize it. But do not dwell on it, for what you dwell on, you manifest more of the same. The idea is to find the areas of your life that you are excelling at and build upon that positive.
The problem usually lies in that you are not living a balanced life. You have either devoted too much time to your work or hobby thus leaving the other parts of your life needing attention. There are reasons they put those little weights on the tires, to keep them balanced.
Most people do not spend anytime at all on themselves. They do not take care of their bodies or their minds. No simple reflection.
You are on life's journey. Stop and take a reading on the map, "Are you being the best you?". Change the heading if you need to and carry on.

Armando Arias Interviews Bobby Whataman Jackson on Blogs and Blogging
Published on February 8th, 2009 @ 02:11:42 pm , using 130 words, 622 views
The Internet can be cold and faceless. As more of us put up videos to demonstrate to our viewing and reading public that we are indeed real people with real passions, it is rare for two marketers to be able to get together.
That is why I feel blessed to be working in the same industry and same city as Armando Arias. His goals, dreams, and ambitions match mine almost perfectly. And like myself, he is not afraid to divulge the coveted tips, tricks, and secrets one must know to be successful online.
I also enjoy his unique video editing skills. Enjoy the video below to see what I mean.
And be sure to check out his own blog as well at Prosperity Web 2.0 Marketing.

Become a Book Marking Demon!
Published on February 6th, 2009 @ 07:33:41 am , using 253 words, 501 views
EdwinSoft's latest release of BookMarkingDemon is simply smoking with features.
If you're not already familiar with BookmarkingDemon, simply put, it is an "autoposter". An autoposter is a program or service that relieves you from the mundane actions like entering passwords, or filling out information when you visit a site. Only BookmarkingDemon is on steriods.
The latest version will allow you to submit information about your sites to over 100 different bookmarking sites. Thus creating backlinks, which in turn, gives your sites some revelancy and the much needed foothold amongst the multitude of the other available sites that use the same keywords that you do. Now I didn't want to turn this into a discussion about keywords and backlinks, but without those two necessary things, how are people going to find you on the web.
I'll also add that some people consider the use of an autoposter to be blackhat. While I have to agree to a slight exent, there are far more dastardly available programs than BookMarkingDemon.
BookMarkingDemon simply allows you to post your content to the bookmarking sites you decide and replicates the process than you would normally do manually. Thus being an incredible time-saver allowing you to work on other projects while the program is running or as I do allow me to sleep or spending time with my family. Set it and forget it.
The setup is quick and easy.
And with this version it has auto-pinging feature for your feeds and blogs, I can't say enough good things about BookMarkingDemon.

Punching the Time Clock at home
Published on February 4th, 2009 @ 07:03:18 am , using 231 words, 537 views
Is that what it feels like to work on your online business? Then you are doing it wrong.
The general consensus from a lot of online marketers is that you have to treat your business like you would treat your job. And that might work if you liked your job, but wasn't the main reason you decided to do something else to make a dollar was that you didn't like having a J-O-B.
I mean you didn't like having a boss, you wanted to decide when, where, how you worked. So how did that fall off track when you started your own business. It was when you brought the same pain from your J-O-B. I don't mean pain in the physical sense but your mind and body does store little memories of every situation.
So how do change those habits. Maybe you could start with your at-home office, change from having a typical desk with a desktop computer to an overstuffed chair and laptop. Instead of a set time structure try blasts of focused work and extended breaks. Remember how much work you actually got done the day before you were going on vacation at the J-O-B.
The goal is to take the grind out of the equation, to instill some enjoyment. You'll be happier, more productive and will not feel like your punching the time clock when you're at home.
